About Me
Hi, I’m Emily!
Fantasy is my first love. A wall in my childhood bedroom was completely covered in a giant hand-drawn map. Though the sprawling fantasy world I created when I was ten no longer exists in any form (RIP, but probably for the best), my love for stories and those who write them has only grown. I’m a huge Lord of the Rings devotee—I watch all three extended edition films multiple times a year and quote the films way too much in my everyday life.
I hold an MFA in Writing and have obtained my editing certifications through the Editorial Freelancers Association. I spent a few years editing short fiction for The Good Life Review, an awesome lit mag. It’s a great place to submit your short work to! At the end of last year, I quit my soul-sucking corporate job and have decided that the only way for me to move forward is to pursue my dreams or bust.
There’s something so incredibly special about being entrusted with a raw manuscript. Getting to know the author, seeing their vision, and watching the story develop right before my eyes—it’s a high I will forever be chasing!
Art is so important, especially in these times. Not just as a means of escape, but also as a means of resistance.
Art is resistance.
Joy is resistance.
Let’s resist together.
I currently live in Omaha, NE with my partner and our two cats. Visit me on TikTok to see our antics!
